Tristan Barnicoat and Jack Selwood overcome difficult conditions for Chairmans wins

Competitors and Marshals were challenged by persistent rain turning the muddy sections into a quagmire.

Tristan Barnicoat pipped John Luckett by one mark to be best Solo. Steve Urell and Julie Williams came out on top amongst the outfits

The car category was a battle between the Class Eights with Jack Selwood coming out on top in his DP Ford. Jack dropped his only mark on Gullijohn. Both Dan Keat and Paul Merson were clean at this stage but picked up threes on the last section where Jack went clean to win the Bill Vanstone Chairmans Trophy.

Simon Oates headed Class 7 in his Liege and along with Andrew Rippon was the only interloper in a Class Eight dominated top ten.

There were several non starters and retirements. Stuart Highwood had the misfortune to collide with a tree in his Reliant Scimitar SS and Paul Watsons Imp VW’s engine cried enough just after the start.
