Fellside Auto Club arranged for the sun to shine on and around  Wigton and Bassenthwaite Lake for their Northern Trial. Kathy Martin travelled up from the South West to dominate and win the Motorcycle category with the only clean sheet.

In the cars Dean Partington and Stuart Bartlett had a day long Class Eight battle and maintained their clean sheets all day, the overall win going to Dean on test times. Continue reading “Balmy day for Northern Trial”

Tough Chairmans Trial

Holsworthy Motor Clubs Chairmans Trophy Trial on 16 February 2019 was an ACTC round for Motorcycles. Guy Windsor was the best Solo with the only clean sheet of the event. Simon and Bekki Eddy were best motorcycle.

It was a tough trial for cars. Paul Merson and Dan Keat dominated in their Class Eight equipment with Paul coming out on top. There were some pretty high scores from the rest of the four wheel entry with only David Haizelden joining Paul and Dan under 20 marks.

Launceston Trial 2019

Andrew Rippon was the only car in single figures with his Class 6 Beetle in this single venue event in Lew Woods. It was another Beetle, this time from Class 4 in second, in the hands of Ryan Tonkin. Clive Kalber was third in his glorious Ford Pop despite one of the doors flying open on one section.

Graham Airey was best Solo with the events only clean sheet. Alan Keat was best outfit.

The Midland Automobile Club had a good and varied entry for their Clee Hills Trial. Clerk of the Course Simon Woodall retained the events familiar two loop system which reduces delays for the competitors but can result in a long day for the Marshalls. Continue reading “Clee Returns”

David Haizelden Clinches Wheelspin on Camel

Adrian Marfell was best car overall but all eyes were on the championship showdown after a season long battle between David Haizelden and Paul Merson

Amongst the cars it was a closely fought battle with five Class Eights, two Class Fours and  and two Class Fives covered by a mere four marks. In the end the win went to Adrian Marfell in his rail on 25 points with Paul Merson, Dan Keat and Aaron Haizelden on 26.
