Using alternate sections, restarts and well thought out tyre pressures the Tamar Team got their “handicapping” right with the top four cars coming from three different classes.

Ryan didn’t quite achieve a clean sheet, losing his only mark of the day on Pilsamor, the first section. It was possible in a class four Beetle though, as Norton Selwood proved. However, Norton dropped some marks later in the event but still finished third overall.
Even with a few tricky bits, Class Eight stayed right in the mix. Simon Groves lost just one mark in his Troll – like Ryan on Pilsamor – but had to settle for second on the test times.
It was nice to see two side valve Dellows taking part. Simon Knight won Class 5 in his Mk2 after Dave Haizelden stopped short of the line on the last section in his Reliant SS.
Peter Bullen took his Mk1 out for a trial after many years, with TV’s Sam Lovegrove joining him in the passenger seat. We’re all hoping to see more of their adventures on our screens soon!
Motorcycles
John Reeves won a closely contested Solo category, pipping Neil O’Connor to the Dunheved Cup by one mark.
It could have been a different story if Neil hadn’t dropped six on Legacy Hill, with John getting to the three. Mark Seward was third Solo, cleaning Legacy Hill bu dropping marks earlier on Little Cory and the bike only Cory Gully.
Richard and Tegan Maddern had a decisive Outfit win.
