Justin Llewellyn wins Bovey Down in Sidevalve Dellow

It was a decisive victory, Justin was the only competitor to score in single figures. However, it was close behind, the next three covered by only two marks

Justin and James Llewellyn attacking a section in their Class 2 Dellow Mk1. last years winner Jim Mountain had to retire his Dellow Mk1 with electrical problems.

Windwhistle attracted a diverse entry for this years Bovey Down and were rewarded by a dry day.

However Monica, the first section, was very slippery and there were only three cleans, Tom Jones in David Foreshews Dingo, Charlie Merson and Nick Sherrin driving the Webber Special rather than sitting alongside Paul Merson. A special mention here to Bob Tozer who came so near but dropped a one in his BMW Z3. Bob was to finish 6th overall and best Class 5.

Phil Parker had a good day in his Escort but went out of contention on the extended Hobbs Horror down in the lower part of the woods where he dropped eight the first time round. Neverless he rallied to finish second overall on 19. Used three times this was to be one of the decisive sections as the experienced team of Keith Sanders, James Shallcross, Mike Greenwood and Dee Champion tweaked it throughout the day.

Monica was also used three times and Norton Selwoods clever positioning of the markers after the Class Eight restart proved a real challenge as all the drivers of all the specials got sideways as they paused away to the detriment of the stakes.
