Amongst the cars it was a closely fought battle with five Class Eights, two Class Fours and and two Class Fives covered by a mere four marks. In the end the win went to Adrian Marfell in his rail on 25 points with Paul Merson, Dan Keat and Aaron Haizelden on 26. David Haizelden and Emma Groves finished with 27, Emma impressing everyone with her performance in the unfamiliar Troll.
Now to the Wheelspin Championship. Going into the Camel Dave had 69 points from nine events but would have to drop his lowest score. Paul had already had to drop one score and was on 63.
Taking account of National B competitions only Pauls second place gave him nine points but had to drop another score which was a three giving him a total of 69.
Again taking account only of National B competitors Dave was fourth overall scoring seven points but now had to drop his lowest score which was six so he finished the year on 70 and Wheelspin Champion. Winning the Wheelspin outside of Class Eight is a considerable achievement and Dave had to work hard for it including competing against his own son who gave no quarter in a similar car.
All this excitement rather overshadowed the motorcycle classes where Alan Keat was best Outfit and Tristan Barnicoat best Solo.
